It is easy to understand why the Langham still reigns as one of London's top hotels. Its understated sophistication is evident in the effortlessly stylish decor and the ease and professionalism of the staff who work within its historical walls.
Quoted as being Europe's first "Grand Hotel," it radiates style with a gracious ease. Nothing it too much to ask for, anything, can be accommodated, and everyone is welcome.
We started our Friday evening with a drink in the Artesian Bar, named, Worlds Best Bar in 2015, and it is easy to see why. It works like a sleek, well oiled operation. The mixologists are attentive, entertaining, and know their stuff. We went for a classic Pina Colada Cocktail. Service was quick and although a little pricey at £18, we were not disappointed. The bar was busy when we arrived and so the maĆ®tre d'took our name and advised that as soon as a table became available it would be ours. After enjoying the complimentary nibbles and starting on our cocktails, it wasn't too long before we were taken to a neat table for 2. Sweet low mellow pink leather upholstered seats with a mirrored table, it was perfect for an intimate cocktail and chat. The waitress took our cocktails, water and nibbles on a tray for us - it was all rather nice.

With the ambience of the bar and the heady cocktails we managed to miss our dinner reservation by 20 minutes. Not to worry, they had held our table and they were happy to charge the cost of our cocktails to our table bill.
We found a Star Deal on Bookatable      (£35 per person) dinner in the Palm Court Restaurant. This included a glass of Prosecco and 3 courses. For starter I chose the Tomato Burrata Salad, which melted in my mouth, and which was lovely and light. For my main, I chose the Ravioli, delicious, and for dessert their famous Chocolate Mousse, which was to die for and pretty as a peach.

A small Jazz trio entertained the room with Jazz Standards and the odd popular request. And the staff were attentive and enthusiastic. Happy staff = happy diners.
The elegany interior, delicious food and effortless service made for a wonderful evening. I would highly recommend a visit to both the bar and the restaurant for a special occassion. We will certainly return again soon, even if it is just to sample the remainder of the cocktail menu!
